Convenient park/unexpected treats

Close to San Fran and value priced, Alameda Fair RV offers hidden delights within walking distance. Race horses train on the track six days a week from 6:00 - 10:00 am. Practice golf shots at the driving range or play a quick 9 holes at the pitch-and-putt inside the race track. The train station is just across the street and the town of Pleasanton is a little longer walk (or short drive). Big rigs are welcome but space is limited inside the RV park. Even so, it's safe, quiet and close to I-680.

Avoid This RV Park!!!

I got absolutely chumped by these people. Made a reservation five months in advance, only to receive a voicemail one week before my trip stating that I was being bumped by a party staying longer. No offer of restitution or anything. This campground has now been blacklisted by my RV club and travelers are highly encouraged to avoid it.

the only camp in town

Other than what's already been posted, I would say that the rules are many, and don't apply to everyone. The dirt and dust is everywhere. The smell from the stables was unpleasant when the wind is right; allergies galore. It is expensive to use the laundry, and sometimes you find a mess in a washer. Inconsiderate, loud neighbors sound like they're coming right into your rig. The hosts were great, but that was about it. If there was another campground to go to, we would have left, but we were there on business. I would never go back or recommend this campground to anyone. Too bad it's the only one available.

Glorified parking lot

This site is little more than a parking lot. Was annoyed about the poor position of the sewer drain - we had to park diagonally to make ours fit. (It was our last night in a hired RV and I wanted to be able to clean out the system easily) The advertised hours for the office were different to those they actually opened! Only saving grace was that the staff were friendly and they let me use their phone to reconfirm my flight home.
