Terrible Campground

I was a seasonal camper. Most awful place on earth. Filthy bathrooms, not showers that work but do take your money. Owners of park are rude and condicending towards campers. Nickel and dime you to death. The camper neighbors were loud, drunk all hours and scream and howl all thru the night and days. Camp owners do nothing. The lake is not a lake by any means, it is a dirty, smell ridden swamp filled with overly large snapping turtles and snakes . The weeds overtake the water and swimming is out of the question. The campsites are over rated and campers overcharged. Instead of the owner's son playing with stones and his large earth moving machines, maybe they should consintrate on fixing the bathrooms facilities and keeping the rif-raf out and stop the nickel and diming of their loyal campers. A complete lack of respect for their seasonal campers. The owners are certifiable. All in all a terrible experience.

Hi, I was a young kid when our family went camping at Bowdish Lake...I can remember we had a site right next to the water...taking the paddle boats out for and hour, for only $5.00, Im sure it has gone up since then. My memories are happy one's and many where made as well... The rec hall had all sorts of games and a little store with lots of penny candy...was the first time I had tried and loved JOLLY RANCHER STICKS. Its been almost 40 years since I have been there. Life gets to busy... Recently we bought a camper...and my boyfriend and sons have really never been camping...we have desided to try out a few campgrounds this coming summer...Bowdish Lake is the first campground that I thought of. I'm a native of Rhode Island, now living in Upstate New York. We are very excited to go camping...one this is certain...we will be spending at least one week or weekend at Bowdish Lake. I'm sure it has many great change through the years, and I so look foward to visiting there again...REAL...SOON!!!
