Overall Good Stay

These cabins are very spacious. In addition to being a great option for a family vacation or overnighter, they would be great for a family gathering/reunion, a girls' or guys' weekend, even a "romantic getaway" in the offseason. We stayed here in the off season, so the campground was empty and the area was very quiet. Our kids and their cousins are between the ages of 3-10, and you can hear every little thing everyone says at all hours of the day/night - so just beware there's not a lot of privacy if that matters to you. We were here for family bonding time, though, anyway - so it was all good. There were little things here and there that may need some maintenance - loose cabinet doors, dirty backsplash area behind the sink and stovetop, lack of kitchen towels/washcloths, light bulbs burnt out or possibly the lamps just didn't work... There are a million different light switches - would be nice if they could be labeled! And it would be helpful if there were a vacuum available in addition to the broom - my kids spilled popcorn on the rug and it was tedious cleaning it up with a broom.(if you're bringing messy kids - maybe bring a handheld vacuum with you?) Also, there is no dishwasher or oven. There is a microwave and stovetop with 4 burners, and the other cabins had grills, so there are plenty of ways to cook. The dining room table comfortably seats 8 and there are 3 barstools at the counter, so you can have a nice family meal. There were plenty of bath towels, and there were extra pillows, sheets/blankets in the bedroom closet. Waterpark passes are not included with the cabin rental, so be prepared to pay extra for those. We would stay here again in the offseason during the week - the price for those dates is very reasonable compared to other cabins we have rented in other parts of IA/WIS, etc. We probably would not stay during the peak season because we are a little on the "cheap" side. :) Overall good experience, though!

Happy but expected more...

When we arrived at the cottage it the beds were not made and an open garage bag was sitting right in front of the door, called the front desk and house cleaning came right away to clean the bathrooms and make beds. Was not happy to see there was no oven or dishwasher. I was surprised to see that there was a list of things we had to do before we left but still saw cob webs between the wall and couches?? If we are paying this much than we should not be expected to take out garbage and sweep the floors. I understand the dishes but at least provide a dishwasher like they do in extended stay hotels to assure they get cleaned. Over all space was great for our family to be comfortable and play and have a nice meal.

Cabins A thru D

I rented all 4 cabins for our annual Christmas Family get together. Most of the cabins needed better house cleaning. The cabin I was in I needed to sweep many places before even moving into it. My temperature was set to low and was very cold in the cabin, however when I called the desk they were very nice about sending someone down to take care of it.Cabin C had a very strong odor of fish smell in it but again they took care of the issue. One draw back is that there are no stove ovens to bake with, this being a big disappointment. Otherwise every thing was great and the desk help was very professional and very kind.

Excellent A

Met family from multiple states over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Cottages are excellent value, priced for the off-season. Much better than hotel rooms, where noise can be an issue. Young children could scream to their hearts content without bothering other travelers. Indoor waterpark allowed an all encompassing view to make sure all of our children were safe. Waterpark staff on Saturday were the only disappointment, as they seemed to be a bit strict and upset due to working the holiday weekend, but all in all, just doing their jobs. Will definitely attempt to visit again.
